The Lodge is situated in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and yet is only a short drive to the World Heritage City of Bath.

Bath is a historic town with Roman origins and a wealth of fabulous Georgian architecture.  The Roman Baths and Royal Crescent are world famous attractions and the city offers a fantastic range of shops and restaurants.  There is an annual Christmas market which always proves very popular and the Theatre Royal hosts some of the best plays and shows.

The historic town of Bradford-On-Avon, just 2 miles away, with its tithe barn, unique shops and old English tea rooms is not to be missed! There is also a good supermarket here. There is a good level walk or cycle ride to Bradford along the canal path.

The village of Winsley has a local shop, farm shop and pub and is a 10 minute walk.

There are many footpaths accessible from The Lodge along which visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery and sample local produce at one of the nearby pubs.

The Lodge is also very close to Route 4 of the National Cycle Network which follows the towpath of the Kennet and Avon Canal to Bath and beyond to the west and Devizes and beyond to the east. Bicycles can be hired nearby - click here for further information.

There is a bus service to Bath and Bradford and also a train service from Avoncliffe which is a ten minute idyllic walk across fields.
